The Alex Wilson Legacy Fund fosters folklore projects around Boulder and the Front Range of Colorado. It continues and expands the lifework of Alex “Tink” Wilson (1929-2012), an inspiring leader of folk dancing, folk song, and story in the Boulder area for decades. Since 2012, the Fund has helped to fund many community-related folklore projects through small grants.
Anyone Can Dance offers ballroom and Latin dance instruction to absolute beginners as well as advanced dancers. Jen, the owner and instructor, once a very high level competitor who competed on both the national and international stage, offers a teaching style that is easy to understand and is sure to make you look and feel great on the dance floor.
Boulder Ecstatic Dance (BED) is a weekly ecstatic dance hosted every Sunday evening at either the Avalon Ballroom or Nevei Kodesh (check our social pages for where dance is for the week). Ecstatic Dance is a free form dance meditation that encourages you to express oneself through movement with the support of an intentionally curated musical journey.
Learn Lindy Hop and Charleston, the original dances of the swing era! Swing dancing is joyful, free spirited, and infectious. It’s unabashedly fun with a carefree style that closely reflects the music of the late 20s hot Jazz to the 40s Big Band music. You’re going to love it! No partner required.
