Colorado Friends of Old Time Music and Dance | Social Dance
Colorado Friends Of Old Time Music And Dance is a non-profit organization that runs nearly 100 community participatory dances per year – such as contra dances, family dances and English Country Dances – with live music and calling in the Denver and Boulder metro area of Colorado. No prior dance experience is necessary, and almost all of our dances are preceded by a lesson. Community dances are very social by nature – married and unmarried couples, singles accompanied with friends or arriving alone, and anyone from age 9 to 109 who enjoys dancing are welcome. Full Details »English Country Dance is a fun, friendly, community form of dance that originated in England during the Renaissance (if not even earlier!). All dances will be taught and will be suitable for first-time dancers. Sliding scale admission of $5 to $15. There will be a lesson at 7; the dance will run from 7:30 to 9:30 with a short break halfway through.

The Zesty contra dance series is for dancers with some experience with contra dance. There is no lesson before the dance, and walk-throughs may be abbreviated, or for simpler dances, eliminated entirely.
