We are a newly formed group based around traditional Cuban dances focusing on Danzón at the moment. Come check out our classes!

What is Danzón: It’s a ~150 year old dance that originated in Cuba rooted in European formal dance with African rhythms influence such was the meeting place of both cultures in Cuba. Later it spread to Mexico and is considered a traditional cultural dance in both countries now. It is a formal, ballroom partner dance with elegance in postures, adhering to protocols/etiquettes, interpreting music strongly and with slow and deliberate movement.

Prerequisite: No previous dance experience or partner necessary.

Class progress type: Drop in classes. We will also train on choreographies. The classes are designed in such a way that a beginner will be accommodated, as well as those who come regularly for a few months will learn  more dance vocabularies, musicality and complete choreographies.
