Boulder Swing Dance | Social Dance
Lindy Hop is a Black American dance, created in Harlem, New York, in the 1920s and ‘30s. It developed in response to and in tandem with the Black jazz music of the Swing Era. It is a partnered, lead-and-follow social dance that is relaxed, creative, and unabashedly fun. Our classes are all about connection: to the music, to a partner, and to the history of this beautiful Black art form.
You’re going to love it!
Lindy Hop is a partnered social dance, but you don’t need to bring your own partner. We rotate during the class so that you have a chance to meet and dance with many different people.
Our inclusive and friendly beginner classes run in 4-week progressive series on Monday nights at 8 p.m. A progressive intermediate series takes place from 6:45-7:45 p.m. A new series begins at the start of every month.
