Beginning Bal-Swing

Balboa is a swing dance that emerged in Southern California during the early 1930s. It is an upright dance that features rhythmic footwork and is often danced to fast tempos. This is the second of two beginning balboa classes. This beginning balboa class will focus on open position steps in balboa, known as bal-swing, and will teach different steps than the first class. Participants do not need to take the pure balboa class to take the bal-swing class. We will introduce the basic rhythms and transitions into lollies and turns.
