Trauma-Informed Movement Workshop

If you have struggled to maintain a positive relationship with exercise in the past, or have sustained an injury and find yourself hesitant or anxious to re-engage with exercise, this workshop is for you. Come learn the systems at work in self-protection, their interplay, and how we can work within them to increase our safety, lessen our anxiety and internal resistance, and improve our overall relationship with struggle and discomfort without overwhelming our bodies or minds. To ensure a positive experience, space is limited – please e-mail to reserve your spot.

Posture Workshop

How much does your posture say about you? Your confidence and presence, your strength and mobility? Our spines, the literal backbone of all our movement possibilities, do not get nearly enough love in the modern-day life most of us lead. Come learn just how much this central bone column affects our every movement. Learn to care for and respect your spine, and be wowed by how much it will give back to you when properly supported.

Romantic Partner Dancing

The perfect setting to impress your Valentine! Come set the mood, work up an appetite, and leave wanting more. Made for absolute beginner-intermediate partner dancers, and relationships of all maturities. Admission price covers 2 attendees. Space is limited – please e-mail to ensure your spot!

Gait Workshop

Learn to walk! With balance, strength, confidence, and grace, and without pain. Come learn the gait cycle, the chains of muscles involved with a healthy gait, identify your personal missing links, and strengthen them, one step at a time. Space is limited – please e-mail to ensure your spot!

Explore Your Asana

Explore the possibilities of asana modification from an anatomical perspective. Whether you are a beginner to yoga or a lifelong practicer, this workshop is designed to teach you to adjust your movements safely and effectively for body type, injury/pain, and area of focus. We will start from the classic anatomical position, observe what tradition tells us our asana postures should be, and then explore what adjustments might make the position more comfortable for us and our unique bodies, in all that they are experiencing in that moment. We want you to empower you with knowledge such that when you leave this class, you can enter a group yoga class and be able to modify your position to amplify your personal practice, instead of relying on generalized instructor cues that may or may not benefit you specifically.

About Lila and Dillon
Lila and Dillon have been dancing Blues for a collective 25 years, and other styles of partner dance for over 35. They both carry education degrees from prestigious universities, have taught dance as a pair across the West Coast from Washington to California, and continue their training as active members of the larger global Blues dance community to this day. Together, they have studied with some of the most prominent blues dance instructors across the U.S. As a teaching pair they focus on intertwining connection, partnership, and playfulness with the rich and complicated history of Blues dance.

Individually, they each have experience instructing both locally and nationally. Dillon has taught dance and choreographed performances for high schools, college campuses, and dance communities across both coasts in the U.S. Lila has been recognized on a global scale, judging national-level competitions and teaching internationally in cities like Philadelphia (USA), Vancouver (Canada), London (UK) and Lisbon (Portugal). They are excited to bring this wealth of knowledge and experience to your scene!
