Body Phonics is a series of in-person movement workshops and live online offerings, meant to educate adults in body literacy. We believe knowledge is power. To know more about the vessel in which you live is to access the ability to change your life the way you want to. Through cultivating a richer brain-body connection, you can reduce your suffering, increase access to your community, to confidence, embodiment and joy.
Whether you have exercised your whole life, or never exercised before, Body Phonics offers challenge within your window of tolerance. We work under a trauma-informed lens, and within a scale of variable exposure to, or prior knowledge of, exercise and movement. We want to meet you wherever you are and encourage you to keep coming back.
Our goal is to work with you to challenge any limiting beliefs you may hold about yourself, and/or your relationship with movement and exercise. We want to work toward improving that relationship into a positive one, that can continue to give back to you far outside the time you spend in the classroom. Release shame and improve self-advocacy through confidence in your awareness of yourself.
My current offerings include private and small group lessons, as well as several workshops and online series: a Gait Workshop, a Posture Workshop, a Trauma-Informed Movement Workshop, Trauma-Informed Yoga Workshop and online series, a Yoga Asana Exploration Workshop and online series, as well as a series of Partner Dancing Workshops.
